Bring back Westlake Lowe's

Democracy wins if we residents of Westlake Village can control our destiny by voting for the Town Center rather than additional office space.

I could never understand how two city council members and an organized group of protesters forced our little town of approximately 9,000 people to add more than 300,000 square feet of additional high-rise office space to the already approved nearly 700,000 square feet of office space in the area for people outside our community. This ignores the gridlock that will be created at rush hour at the Lindero Canyon onand off-ramps at the time Westlakians access the freeway.

The advantage that the Town Center will provide is obvious and exciting. A Lowe's home improvement store, new restaurants and new retail shops all in a beautiful low-rise setting will provide needed services, additional sales tax revenue and a $1 million gift to our city.

Can we allow this opportunity to get away again? I think not. JoAn Gumbert Westlake Village
