Three-legged wonder dog

DOING FINE-Charly the pooch has found his place. DOING FINE-Charly the pooch has found his place. Marla Finkelstein of Oak Park told us about her one-year-old dog, Charly, a member of the "three-legged club."

As a baby, Charly's front paw was broken and it never healed properly. At 10 months, he broke his leg again and spent two months in the care of the doctors and animal lovers at Agoura Hills Hospital. They tried to save the leg by putting a metal wire inside to strengthen and heal the bone.

Charly was adopted by a family, who nursed him back to health. But when the cast and splint were finally removed, the withered leg broke once again.

Now Charly has three legs, but he runs, plays, sits in the sun and acts like a young dog. He loves his new family and all the people and animals that come his way. Charly's family spoils him.

Finkelstein wants to thank all the persons who helped with Charly's recovery and adds that Charly "plans on putting all three of (his) legs forward and enjoy every day."
