I would not be at all surprised if the chief victims of increased traffic enforcement were Calabasas residents. After all, what would you expect from the citizens of a city whose elected officials placed the following elitist sign at the boundaries of their city: "Welcome Home, Slow Down and Drive Safely."

The message is addressed to residents only. Do Calabasans habitually speed and drive unsafely whenever they are outside of the city limits?

I know the city has at least one person in authority who is proficient in English because the sign originally read "Drive Safe." You can see the smaller blank area on the right where the "ly" has been added by a plastic overlay. William O. Felsman Woodland Hills
