Mountain-size complaint

We totally agree with Gerry Brennan's letter in the March 23 issue of The Acorn. While driving down Lindero Canyon, instead of seeing the mountain views, all we can see is this institutional-looking skyscraperlike building.

The Westlake City Council should have never approved the additional stories requested for this hotel and should have never approved the architecturally "ugly" looking facade. Dole might have wanted their new hotel to continue with the same theme as their office building, but this new hotel is supposed to be a luxury hotel and spa, not an office building.

While seeing all the construction happening on both sides of Lindero Canyon, we feel like this is not the same Westlake Village we moved here for, with the small-town atmosphere and beautiful natural surroundings.

Lately, it seems like the Westlake City Council represents business interests rather than representing the citizens of Westlake Village. Ann and Ovi Lalo Westlake Village
