Follow Pavley's endorsement

The primary election in June will have a big impact on the quality of life in Agoura and Calabasas. Fran Pavley, our 41st District's popular and effective assemblywoman, is termed out and the race to succeed her as the Democratic candidate is crowded.

Voters who are unsure might look to Fran herself for guidance.

She, along with state Sen. Sheila Keuhl, has endorsed the like-minded Julia Brownley, who vows to follow Fran's lead in protecting open space and trying to lift California's public schools from the abyss.

If we liked Fran's hard work in the legislature, we're sure to like Brownley's. Our district's representation ain't broke and we shouldn't try to fix it. I suggest staying the course with Fran's own pick for our next assemblywoman. Mary Ellen Strote Calabasas
