Local wildlife organization comes to the rescue

SEAL OF APPROVAL- Above, a young 70-pound elephant seal stranded on El Matador Beach in Malibu is carried to a truck near Pacific Coast Highway by the California Wildlife Center's Deanna Thompson, Tim Root and Gregg Feingold. The seal will be taken to a Marine Mammal Care Center in San Pedro to be cared for and eventually released back to the wild. Left, Cynthia Reyes, director of Marine Mammal Response for the Wildlife Center, drops a towel onto the seal to protect it.
