Bad drivers should beware

I would like to comment on the article written by Kyle Jorrey about the traffic ticket controversy. Mary of Agoura Hills, who asked that her name be withheld, states that she received four tickets, two for speeding 50 miles an hour in a 35-mile zone and the other two for not making complete stops.

She probably deserved all her tickets. Driving 50 miles an hour in a 35-mile zone was probably on Kanan from the freeway to Thousand Oaks Boulevard. Anyone who drives that area must realize it is a 35 mile-per-hour zone and that the deputy always gives out tickets right before you reach Thousand Oaks Boulevard. He usually stands there with a radar gun pointing up Kanan Road. All Mary has to do is drive 35 miles an hour in a 35-mile zone.

Regarding her other two tickets, there are two many people who disregard stop signs. They roll through the signs rather than coming to a complete stop. If this is one's practice, then they deserve the ticket.

By the way, I have had one ticket in the last 30-some years and I deserved it. Everyone who obeys the laws will not receive tickets. Carl J. Lane Oak Park
