Advice for lupus patients

At the next meeting of the Conejo Valley Lupus Support Group at 6 p.m. Tues., April 4 at One Baxter Way, Westlake Village, Barbara De Witt will discuss "Looking Your Best." She is the former fashion editor for the Los Angeles Daily News and will provide tips for those who would like to "camouflage" the visual effects from symptoms and medications due to lupus.

Those who have lupus are invited to attend and bring those who support them, including spouses, parents and children.

The group helps patients learn to effectively live with lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease. The meeting is sponsored by Lupus International.

Lupus International will host a wine tasting and auction event at 7 p.m. Thurs., May 4 at Troquet's private dining facility, Atelier, in the South Coast Plaza, 3333 Bristol St., Costa Mesa. All proceeds will benefit Lupus International for educational and supportive services to lupus patients and their loved ones.

Among the wines available for tasting will be Dobbin Lane Wines, which were recently showcased on the TV series "Desperate Housewives."

Pre-sale tickets are $45 per person, $80 per couple, or $55 and $95 at the door.
