Students enjoy spring break of a different kind

Three sophomores from Viewpoint School in Calabasas are currently collecting school supplies for Hurricane Katrina victims.

The students-Josh Craft, Hunter Carlin and Rod Firestone-will travel to New Orleans over spring break to donate the supplies to the Boys Hope and Girls Hope Club for distribution to 10 schoolchildren living in a single house with five staff members to help them.

According to Angela Archer, club director, all supplies were lost in the hurricane and the school needs three-ring notebook paper, pencils, pens, graph paper, index cards, binders, pocket thesauruses and dictionaries, and tri-fold project boards.

Gift certificates for AMC movies, McDonalds, Pizza Hut and Blockbuster Video are also requested.

For more information about the Boys Hope and Girls Hope Club, please go online to www.boyshopegirlshope.org.
