O'Connell to attend fundraiser

California's chief educator, State Superintendent Jack O'Connell, will be the special guest at an event hosted by local education and civic leaders on behalf of Barry Groveman and his campaign for the 41st Assembly District.

Groveman is a Calabasas City Council member and former mayor.

Among the event hosts are Ventura County Superintendent of Schools Chuck Weis, Former Las Virgenes Unified School District trustee and Los Angeles Unified School District teacher Charlotte Meyer, former Los Angeles City Councilmember Joy Picus and Las Virgenes School Board members Terilyn Finders, Cindy Iser, Dave Moorman and Gordon Whitehead.

O'Connell will discuss the future of public education in California.
