Army 2nd Lt. Argyle S. Nelson has graduated from the Infantry Officer Basic Course at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. He is the son of Argyle and Barbara Nelson of Oak Park and a 2000 graduate of Oak Park High School. His wife, Kamrine, is the daughter of Kenn Miller of Oak Park.

Navy Cmdr. David J. Silkey is in the middle of a scheduled deployment while assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron 87 embarked aboard the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt which is home-ported in Norfolk, Va. Silkey's unit has conducted more than 4,000 sorties, including action in Iraq. He is a 1979 graduate of Calabasas High School.

Navy Ensign Adam N. Horar recently reported for duty at Naval Air Station, Kingsville, Texas. Horar is a 1997 graduate of Calabasas High School and a 2002 graduate of Cal State Northridge. He is the son of Jack Horar of Calabasas.

Navy Seaman Pourya Faghihi, a 2000 graduate of Calabasas High School, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Stephen F. Nagasawa has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas and earned credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force. He is the son of Debra Nagasawa of Agoura Hills and a 2004 graduate of Agoura High School.
