Bridging the Gap workshop slated A Bridging the Gap parent workshop schedule was announced at Agoura High School. The purpose of the program is to forge better communication between parents and students, especially those students who are experiencing difficulty with substance abuse or peer pressure issues. A panel of speakers will discuss teen issues for parents and youth on Mon., March 20. "Drug Prevention and How the Law Can Help" will be the topic on April 24. Representatives from the Lost Hills Sheriff's Department will be available to answer questions. An informal discussion on how parents can communicate with their teens about substance abuse will be conducted on May 22. These meetings will be held in room A1 at 7 p.m. Other parent meetings planned include Assessing AHS Technology, a workshop on how to access information about the school and its students. This meeting is planned for 7 p.m. Mon., March 20 in the computer lab, room C-2. Modeling time management and teaching strategies to help teens become more organized is the focus of the April 24 meeting, which will be in the library at 7 p.m. The final meeting of the year will be on summer fun for teens at 7 p.m. Mon., May 22 in the library. -Stephanie Bertholdo |
