Would like to be treated better

Many thanks for your informative and balanced article on the spike in traffic citations ("License and Registration, Please," March 9).

Having been recently cited by the Lost Hills Sheriff's Station for an unlawful right turn, I have personal experience with this "out of control" department. Not only was the citation highly questionable, but the officer was both surly and arrogant, even though I cooperated and didn't talk back. He treated me like a suspected serial killer.

If Capt. Tom Martin has nothing more to do than order his men to play "Elliot Ness" with the good citizens of our valley, his budget should be cut and he should be terminated. Warren S. Stanley Woodland Hills
