Agoura Hills Rec teaching CPR, medical skills

The city of Agoura Hills Department of Community Services will offer spring certification courses for both adult/child/infant CPR and first aid. Both classes will be at the Agoura Hills Recreation Center, 30610 Thousand Oaks Blvd., Agoura Hills. Advanced registration is required for the sessions.

The First Aid Basic Session will be from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Sat., March 25. This course will cover sudden illness, seizures, bleeding, burns, poisoning, snake bites, nose bleeds, bee stings, Epi-pen usage and more. Students will receive a first aid booklet, poison control stickers and an American Red Cross three-year certification card upon course completion.

The fist aid class cost is $28 with a $10 non-refundable lab fee payable to the instructor.

The Heartsaver CPR course is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sat., March 25. The session will cover adult, child and infant CPR, rescue breathing, barrier device usage, choking, safety issues and SIDS information and will include an AED (defibrillator) demonstration.

Students will receive a manual and handout information and an American Heart Association twoyear CPR certification card upon course completion.

The CPR course fee is $32 with a $12 nonrefundable lab fee payable to the instructor.
