Borealis to host grand opening event

Adventurers are invited to take part in the festivities as Borealis Expedition Adventure Resource celebrates its grand opening beginning at noon, Sat., March 18 at the store in the Janss Marketplace, Thousand Oaks.

The family event will feature live music, a climbing wall, gear and hiking clinics and prize raffles.

The store, which prides itself on being "the ultimate resource for enthusiasts from novice to advanced," carries products from Granite Gear, Art'Teryx, Osprey, Patagonia and North Face among others.

Borealis also has what it calls a "Resource Quarry" section where a giant flat-screen television runs images of "extreme devotees of sport" while shoppers can browse local guide maps and books.

"We want to provide an inviting haven where outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and levels can feel at home," said co-owner William Brammer. "Where they rely on us for personalized guidance on the best product for their needs and advice on how to enhance their outdoor experience."

The new Borealis Expedition Adventure Resource is located in the Janss Marketplace at 275 N. Moorpark Road, Suite C, in Thousand Oaks.
