Savvy Salon's Hawkins picked for industry award

Michael Hawkins of Savvy Salon and Spa in Westlake Village has been nominated for the Salon Entrepreneur of the Year Global Salon Business Award.

The program honors leading salon owners who have consistently demonstrated "extraordinary" business and entrepreneurial success in salon leadership, general management, financial prosperity, marketing and promotion. The owners are also acknowledged for making a lasting, positive impact on the salon industry and in their community.

Winners will be announced at the Global Salon Business Forum and Awards scheduled from June 3 to 6 in Barcelona, Spain.

"I created the Global Salon Business Awards three years ago to celebrate the 'unsung heroes' of the business community," said Paula Kent Meehan, Redken founder.
