Bright Apple opens

Newbury Park-based Bright Apple Tutoring Service Inc. aims at matching professional teachers and tutors with students in all grades and subjects. The company has expanded operations to include the Pasadena/Glendale area.

"We are very excited to be entering the Pasadena/Glendale area," said Laurie Hurley, president of Bright Apple. "Our business has grown substantially in the past four years and we have tutored more than 1,000 kids since opening in June 2002.

"The demand for personalized tutoring, where the parents do not have to drive anywhere to get their kids the help they need, is really fulfilling a much-needed service in the community," said Hurley.

Hurley is a tutor broker. She contracts with qualified tutors and matches them with students individually.

Tutoring is done in the client's home using the school curriculum and focusing on teaching the concepts, homework support, organizational skills, test-taking strategies and study skills. One-on-one, in-home tutoring is available seven days a week, according to Hurley. For more information or a free consultation, call (888) 847-0033 or go online to www. brightappletutoring.com.
