Great day for the Great Race
ON THE RUN-Above, children in the one-mile run turn from Thousand Oaks Boulevard onto Argos Street in Agoura Hills during the Dole Great Race of Agoura last Saturday. Right, the thermometer registers 32 degrees as the half-marathon runners enter the frosty trail at Chesebro Canyon. Now in its 21st year, the annual Great Race was started by parents looking to support local schools. Today it's one of the largest running events in the Los Angeles area and continues to raise money for eight Agoura Hills and Oak Park schools. For race results, see page 22A. |
