Busy March for Beth Haverim Temple Beth Haverim is proud to offer "an inspiring Shabbat time where we will express prayers from the heart and share our warmth as a community," according to Cantor Kenny Ellis. The service, "Friday Night Love," will be at 7:30 p.m. Fri., March 10 at the temple, 29900 Ladyface Court, Agoura Hills. "By this name we are saying that we shall be there for each other to celebrate every sacred moment of the Jewish year and every life passage," Ellis said. "We will experience beautiful music, poetry, prayers and hugs with a joyful reception. Our purpose is to provide a unique spiritual opportunity for us to reaffirm our commitment to each other and our synagogue. 'Friday Night Love' will help us build our spirits and provide a sense of healing, comfort and wholeness." All are welcome to join Rabbi Gershon Johnson, Ellis and the congregation. At 6:30 p.m. Mon., March 13, the second grade class of Temple Beth Haverim will present the annual "Purim Shpeil," a program explaining the holiday of Purim. Immediately following the program the Megillah (Book of Esther) will be read. Groggers (noisemakers) will be given to all who attend and everyone is invited to wear a costume. Hamantashen (pastry) and other refreshments will be served after the reading. All are invited to attend. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sun., March 19, Temple Beth Haverim will host its 10th annual Purim Carnival at Red Oak Elementary School, 4857 Rockfield St., Oak Park. The carnival will be presented rain or shine and is open to the community. Admission is free. There will be rides, games and prizes, rock climbing, arts and crafts, and kosher food. Entertainment will be provided by "You Should Be Dancing." Raffle prizes will be given every hour. Earlybird raffle and carnival tickets may be purchased at the temple office.
