The community is a very good sport

On Sat., Feb. 11 at Forest Cove Park, I organized a "sports day" for young children to be introduced to local sports programs. I did this as a part of my accomplishments for my Girl Scout Gold Award.

There was a very good turnout among the community. I received many kudos from the parents and children who attended.

I am more than elated at the success of this program. That being said, this program would have never happened without the help of my many friends and classmates who volunteered their time unselfishly.

I also need to thank a special teacher and friend, Mrs. Kristen Marsillio. Not only has she helped me through my years at school, but she also volunteered her time on that Saturday.
