Insurance agent deserves better

Don Liebman has been my insurance agent for almost 33 years, so I read your article about him with great interest.

While your article discussed his insurance agency and how he deals with Parkinson's disease, it failed to mention how Don is also a generous supporter of our communities.

I was outraged when I also read that other insurance agencies have been bad-mouthing Don. His agency has always provided me with excellent service because he knows how to hire and keep very good employees.

Those who would suggest that Don Liebman cannot provide good service because of his illness are due for a rude reception. My wife has Parkinson's and Don talked on the phone with her for over an hour to reassure her and to encourage her to not let the disease interfere with enjoying life. Also, my college roommate was diagnosed with Parkinson's over 15 years ago.

I refuse to do business with anyone who bad-mouths his or her competition because of illness, handicap or disability. David E. Ross Oak Park
