Oxford Learning Center offers unique program

Oxford Learning in Thousand Oaks is offering for a limited time free Dynamic Diagnostic Assessments to students who can benefit from their unique afterschool learning program. Interested parents or students should contact their school counselor or principal, or Oxford Learning at (805) 494-7330.

Founded in the mid-1980s by a team of education experts who researched how children actually learn, Oxford Learning now includes more than 100 centers across North America.

The newest center is now open in Thousand Oaks. Education Director Ray Hanson, PhD, and Center Director Sheri Hanson, MBA, together bring more than 40 years of educational experience.

Ray Hanson’s language and perceptual processing research is central to Oxford’s emphasis on the cognitive learning strengths and weaknesses of each student. Sheri Hanson’s success in the classroom teaching internationally for more than 15 years helps all students reach their full potential.

Oxford Learning goes beyond tutoring to help students learn how to learn, so they can then succeed no matter what the subject or grade level.

Memorizing is not enough to master a subject. Oxford Learning teaches students how to mentally organize information so it makes sense and they become independent learners.

Every program starts with a Dynamic Diagnostic Assessment, a combination of internationally recognized assessment tools and Oxford’s own unique assessment tool. This gives a view of the whole student, not just academic level, and Oxford Learning can develop individual programs that engage the student.

Working with an individual program and under the personal direction of a certified teacher, Oxford students develop a new approach to school work, test preparation and study skills. The result is more confidence, motivation, and better grades.

Oxford provides the tools and skills that bring about a love of learning for life.
