Home sales drop, but prices remain high

January sales of Conejo Valley single-family homes totaled 101 compared to 136 sold in December and 108 a year ago, according to Glen Scalise, president of the Conejo Valley Association of Realtors.

Median sales price for single-family homes in January was $834,558; in 2005 it was $805,555. The median price is the point where half of the units sold for more and half for less.

Condominium sales totaled 44 in January, compared to 59 in December and 68 for January 2005, the association said.

Total sales for all real estate transactions in January were $121.6 million; for January a year ago the total was $143.8 million.

New residential listings totaled 311 in January compared to 208 in January last year.
