Keep legal aliens off the commissions

A check of the Feb. 15 Calabasas City Council agenda showed that it was planning to change requirements to allow legal aliens to serve on city commissions.

In the past, only citizens who were also registered voters could serve.

If there were a shortage of qualified applicants, such a change might be justified. However, there is not now nor has there ever been a shortage of wellqualified persons willing to serve on Calabasas city commissions.

Obviously, U.S. citizenship means less to the members of the city council than it does to the rest of us. Karmen Brower Calabasas
