Development looks like a prison

Recently I had picked up a visitor from England and we were driving home. He admired the beautiful open views, the hills covered with a tinge of green and of course the warm weather.

As we exited the 101 on to Lindero Canyon Road and turned north, Stephen stared out the window, mouth gaping, and said, “Who would ever put a prison in such a beautiful area.”

But this is not a prison, it is the new Dole Wellness Center.

The development has become an eyesore. It contradicts the rest of the openness and respect for the environment and community where we live. I agree with my visitor from abroad. We can and should do better. John Bamberger Oak Park
