Mid-year budget changes benefit Morrison Agoura Hills officials recommended several mid-year changes to the city’s budget. Morrison Park and the Old Agoura Equestrian Trails received a boost in funds. The city’s mid-year budget was adjusted to include $250,000 to complete the design and construction of Morrison Park and $20,000 to improve the Old Agoura Equestrian Trails. City officials tried unsuccessfully to obtain partial funding for both projects through state grants. Morrison Park, located on Thousand Oaks Boulevard, is among the last of the city’s public parks to be improved, officials said. The city will fund the construction of three tennis courts, a full basketball court and restrooms. “The Morrison folks have been extremely patient,” Councilmember Dan Kuperberg said. Mayor Denis Weber said the equestrian trails need to be redesigned before they become a safety issue. City coffers also received an unexpected boost in revenue, Finance Director Georgette Holt said. Agoura Hills received $18,500 from the state of California as a repayment of vehicle licensing fees. In other action, Agoura Hills officials said they are selling surplus city property on Canwood Street east of Derry Avenue and expect the sale to generate $72,000. |
