Exchange students need hosts

The local chapter of the Center for Cultural Interchange—a nonprofit organization that helps place foreign exchange students in American homes—is looking for Conejo Valley families to host exchange students from Spain.

The students will be in the United States from June 28 to July 29. Although the foreign exchange students speak English, they will attend English classes on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

The local exchange program representative will organize day trips to such California landmarks as the Getty Museum, Venice Beach, Malibu, Magic Mountain, Universal Studios and Disney-land.

The Calabasas Tennis and Swim Center will host the welcome and departure dinners, as well as other day activities

Students must have their own room, or they may share a room with a child of the same gender over eight years old, provided they have their own bed. The host family must provide three meals a day, and students may make their own lunch or purchase it on their own at school.

All of the students arrive with their own spending money and insurance.
