CRITTER TAILS—According to his owner, Ophra Ashur of Oak Park, Gingie experienced an identity crisis in his youth. He used to climb trees, scale walls and chase squirrels up the backyard tree, apparently unaware that dogs don’t do those things. Today Gingie is a much mellower 13-year-old but he still is his own person. He knocks on the door when locked out and will only eat when accompanied by human family members. And Gingie loves to hang out with his human dad. The two bond during “guy time” while they crack and eat sunflower seeds together at home.
