Westlake Women’s Club receives honor

Members of the Westlake Women’s Club have received the President’s Call to Service Award. According to membership chair Betty Horner, “This award was created to recognize Americans committed to volunteer service and have dedicated 4,000 hours or two years over the course of their lives to serve others at home or abroad.”

The award includes a personalized certificate, lapel pin, letter from the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation, and a letter from President Bush.

The club hosted a special pinning ceremony where members pledged “to continue going the extra mile to serve their community and country with distinction.”
