Fundraiser will help fight cancer

Residents can help community members fight cancer by working out at The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura’s Cycling for Wellness, a non-competitive fundraiser for the organization’s free programs of support and education for people fighting cancer.

The event will take place in hourly increments between 8 a.m. and noon on Sat., Feb. 18 at Bally’s Total Fitness, Oxnard, and from noon to 2 p.m. at the Spectrum Club, Thousand Oaks.

“This is a great opportunity for the community to come together to fight cancer and have a great workout at the same time,” said Liz Gregory, funds development coordinator for The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura. “And it’s a fun reminder that each of us can play a part in raising hope for families in our community who are fighting cancer.”

Registration is $50 per hour. Participants are asked to invite friends and family to sponsor each hour of cycling, with a recommended total of at least $500 per hour. Prizes will be given to the top fundraiser at each location.

To register or sponsor, visit www.TwcVv.org or call (805) 379-4777.
