Personal libertieat stake

There is a serious problem in Calabasas that needs our imediate attention. It's the smoking ban.

This is actually an attack on personal liberty disguised as a smoking issue. These types of things are happening all over the nation, attacking one thing or another, that all have the same affect.

Liberty and freedom mean something, and we're letting it slip away by little by little.

These seemingly little things all add up over time and we must take a stand on every one.

This is much more than a smoking issue and the Calabasas City Council is using the unpopularity of smoking as a tool. We must look at the bigger issue at stake in all of these “little” bans, and laws, and take a stand.

Our government officials are not serving us, they are furthering their own personal agendas and in some cases bowing to special interest groups and this affects us all in the end, smokers and non-smokers.

It is up to all of us to contact the Calabasas council and mayor and let them know that we see this for what it is, and we don't want any part of it.

We must take back our liberty and freedom and remind our public servants that they indeed serve us, not the other way around.

The power is with the people but unfortunaly, our government needs to be reminded of this from time to time. Evan Randleman Calabasas
