Fire hits Agoura home
EARLY MORNING CALL—Firefighters battle a blaze at a home on the 6300 block of Aquarius Avenue in Agoura Hills early Wednesday morning. Four family members and their two pets escaped the blaze without injury, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. One family member reportedly escaped by using a ladder brought to her by a neighbor. The fire caused significant structural damage to the house and destroyed four vehicles, but didn’t spread. The fire started in the garage and was likely caused by an electrical short, authorities said. Inside the garage, ammunition and aerosol cans exploded and pushed the flames up to 100 feet in the air. Later, around 7:30 a.m., firefighters from the same Cornell station in Agoura joined in the battle to stop a 30-acre brush fire in Malibu’s Latigo Canyon. The two fires were unrelated.
