Salsa and swing class will support art alliance

From 7:30 to 11 p.m. Fri., Feb. 10, the Oak Park Performing Arts Alliance of Oak Park High School invites the community to “Dancing with the Stars,” a salsa and swing class taught by professional dancers Gail and Jamie Arias in the school pavilion, 899 N. Kanan Road, Oak Park.

A fundraiser for the alliance, the cost to attend is $25 per person for a two-hour lesson, refreshments and a chance to win a door prize. The adults-only dancers may attend with or without a partner. Checks should be made payable to OPPAA (Oak Park Performing Arts Alliance).

The alliance is a parent-run volunteer organization that provides financial support to the school’s drama, choir, band and Comedy Sportz programs through the membership drive and other fundraising efforts. OPPAA donations to the performing arts students and teachers have facilitated the purchase of instruments, props, curtains, choir sound shells and more.
