AHS to host ‘Agoura Idol’ contest Agoura High School is hosting “Agoura Idol,” its own version of “American Idol,” at 7 p.m. on Thurs., Feb. 2 and Fri., Feb. 3 in the G Building. The talent show will mimic the hit TV show where contestants sing for a panel of judges— but with a twist. The school event will lampoon the television show with a “William Hung” award for the worst performance. Hung was the contestant on “American Idol” who became famous for singing poorly. Even the panel of student judges will humorously imitate the TV judges with some overthe-top sweetness, while one will likely share contempt for the contestants, much like “American Idol’s” Simon Cowell. Jenna Grossman, the school’s senior class vice president, said doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and the show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 with an ASB card ($7 without a card). ––Stephanie Bertholdo |
