GENEROUS GIFT—The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura receives a donation from representatives of UBS Financial Services. The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura recently received $8,250 from the Westlake Village and Woodland Hills branch offices of UBS Financial Services Inc. This latest donation brings the total contributions from the two offices to more than $38,000 over the past three years.

UBS began donating to The Wellness Community Valley/ Ventura in 2003, based on recommendations from employees, local physicians and community members. The company and its employees have continued to support the organization through corporate and individual donations.

UBS Vice President-Investments David E. Krigstein and his family ran in the L.A. Marathon in 2004 as a fundraiser for The Wellness Community. The family raised $10,000.

“We as a firm believe in investing in the communities in which we and our neighbors live and work,” Krigstein said. “Cancer touches many families in our community each year, and we are pleased to be able to support the extraordinary efforts of the Wellness Community to provide professional cancer support services at no charge.”

The Wellness Community is an international, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free support, education and hope to people affected by cancer.

“We are so grateful to UBS and its employees for their steadfast response to our needs over the past few years,” said Redonna Carpenter, chair of The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura’s board of directors. “This most recent donation is just one example of their continued dedication to providing hope for our community members who are affected by cancer.”
