Says Westlake Village only in it for the money

I have been a resident of Westlake Village for over 17 years. We moved from Agoura Hills to Westlake Village because of its strict ordinances in keeping the values of our homes up. Since then, we have watched our small town grow in size, traffic and noise.

While I am all for growth, our city council has allowed too much growth to happen, all in the name of money. Traffic along Lindero Canyon Boulevard and Westlake Boulevard is backed up, especially between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and then again as local businesses let out in the evening.

By rezoing for Lowe’s big box store to be built, we need to be aware of the consequences. We need to realize how impacted not only Lindero Canyon Boulevard will be, but also recognize that both the Westlake Boulevard and Lindero Canyon Boulevard entrances and exits to the freeway will be constantly backed up. They will become another Kanan Road nightmare and worse.

Estimates of over 8,600 additional cars daily will be using both of these exits and entrances. This will not just be local residents of Westlake Village, but from the San Fernando Valley to Camarillo.

Let’s be honest with ourselves. The city council is only interested in more revenue for Westlake Village and not for the reason we all live here in our private community. Karen Wrigley Westlake Village
