Who let the dogs out? Recently I was walking my 18-pound dog on her leash along Conejo View Drive when I noticed two unleashed dogs (a large black and tan Rottweiler with a red harness and a beige chow mix with a black collar) walking towards us from across the street. I picked up my dog and tried to leave, when the Rottweiler ran towards me and began to attack my dog in my arms. I screamed for help as I was knocked to the ground and watched in horror as my dog was viciously attacked. A neighbor heard my screams and threw a rock at the Rottweiler to stop the attack. My dog was able to break free and ran towards my house but the dog ran after her, pinned her on the ground and viciously bit her repeatedly in the back and thigh. If it had not been for my next door neighbor who then grabbed the dog by the collar so I could get my dog inside, I have no doubt that my dog would be dead. She was rushed to the animal emergency hospital where she was treated and for two days, we watched and hoped that she would make a recovery and are very fortunate that she survived the attack. Owners, please be aware of your dog’s temperament and where it is at all times. Lori Orr Agoura Hills |
