Jewish school instructor to teach weekly Torah study

Conejo Jewish Academy will unite with Chabad centers worldwide in offering a study session on the weekly Torah portion. The class, “Torah Studies,” will begin at 8 p.m. tonight, Thurs., Jan. 19 at 30345 Canwood St., Agoura Hills.

Rabbi Eli Broner, a teacher at the Conejo Jewish Day School, will instruct the first 10-week installment on the Book of Exodus.

The Torah studies will show participants the modern-day relevance of each weekly portion of the Bible. The curriculum has been prepared by scholars and editors who have developed a well-developed lesson that will allow participants to study the Torah through the eyes of Moses, the sages of the Talmud, the classic commentator Rashi, the philosopher Maimonides and the mystics of the Kabalah.
