Liberty Film Festival founders to speak at Republican club

MOVIES WITH TRADITIONAL VALUES—Contrary to popular belief, apparently conservatives do  exist  in  Hollywood.  The Malibu  Republican Women’s group will feature speakers from the Liberty Film Festival, said to be  the  first  conservative  and libertarian  film  festival.  The meeting is slated for Jan. 26 on the Pepperdine campus. Above, Govindini  Murty,  one  of  the festival  co-founders,  will  be  a featured speaker. The public is invited to attend the Malibu Republican Women’s group meeting at 11 a.m. Thurs., Jan. 26 at Villa Graziadio on the Pepperdine University school campus, 24255 Pacific Coast Hwy. in Malibu.

The guest speakers are Govindini Murty and Jason Apuzzo, co-founders of the Liberty Film Festival, said to be Hollywood’s first conservative and libertarian film festival.

Their topic is “The Past, Present, and Future of Conservatives in Hollywood.” They will screen the 30-minute film, “Brainwashing 201: Second Semester,” described as “a hilarious yet sobering account of political correctness run amok on college campuses.”

The film festival showcases films that celebrate the traditional American values of free speech, patriotism and religious freedom.

Murty is an actress and writer. Apuzzo is a writer and director. Both are Yale graduates who appear as film commentators on various cable networks and also write. write. The luncheon fee is $25. RSVP at (310) 457-3530.
