Festival names new director

Cheryl Heitmann The Ventura Music Festival is an annual event presented each May in Ventura that features a variety of performances staged in the city’s historic venues. Recently, the festival offices announced that Cheryl Heitmann has accepted the position of executive director of the festival.

Heitmann is a board member of the Conejo Schools Education Foundation, as well as a member of numerous other Ventura County-based committees and agencies.

“Cheryl’s expertise in all levels of fundraising, governing board relations, event planning, volunteer recruitment, staff training, legislative, issue advocacy and marketing strategies will be a tremendous asset to Ventura’s wonderful music festival,” said Mel Sheeler, president of the board for the festival.

The Ventura Music Festival is celebrating its 12th season.
