Westlake Village names new transportation provider l The city of Westlake Village has recently announced a change in provider for its subsidized transportation program. As of Jan. 15, the new provider is MV Transportation. Residents requiring service should call (818) 707-2900 to schedule a ride. MV Transportation vehicles are all handicapaccessible white minivans. The Senior and Disabled Transportation program serves Westlake Village residents over age 60 or residents who cannot drive due to a disability. The new service under MV Transportation operates weekdays from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fares for eligible residents are 50 cents for a one-way ride and 75 cents for pre-arranged roundtrips within the city boundaries or to the following locations outside the city: Los Robles Regional Medical Center, medical offices in Thousand Oaks and Agoura Hills, Conejo YMCA, Fitzgerald House, Goebel Senior Center, Social Security office, Thousand Oaks Post Office and The Oaks and Janss malls. Riders should be prepared to provide name, proof of age and residency, telephone number, destination and appropriate fare when calling to reserve a ride. The Teen Recreation Transportation Service is for middle and high school residents who need transportation to participate in programs involving teen recreation services offered through the city of Agoura Hills, Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center, extracurricular activities on middle or high school campuses during weekday after-school hours, Westlake Village Library activities and YMCA recreational programs.
