City council admonished

If you attended the yarn that was the environmental impact meeting on Jan. 5, it was clear from the audience that most were unaware and then shocked by what they heard and witnessed. When the size of Lowe’s was shown on the screen there was a noticeable gasp.

It was evident that (City Councilmember) Mark Rutherford’s mission is to turn our lovely small city into the Valley. He doesn’t care about the traffic, the danger to our children, the pollution, the noise, the urban decay or what I believe to be the wishes of the vast majority of residents of Westlake.

He will not allow the people who pay the taxes and will suffer under his and the council’s continued lack of caring and understanding to vote on this project.

Why not? Do they have a financial interest as Bob Slavin does? Why do they not care?

The legacy of this council will be remembered as one that didn’t listen to the voters, overbuilt and destroyed our quality of life.

Mark and the council members should be ashamed of themselves. They don’t live near the Lowe’s project. Why would they care?

Let them know how you feel. If you like the project or oppose the project, let them know that the people should decide. Ron Klamert Westlake Village
