Temple Beth Haverim to hold services

Temple Beth Haverim has announced the following events for January.

The Sisterhood Shabbat will be at 7:30 p.m. Fri., Jan. 20. The temple will honor the members of Sisterhood by having them assist in leading the service.

On Saturdays, Jan. 21 and 28, the temple will host Shabbat services from 9:30 a.m. to noon followed by a Shabbat Kiddush lunch open to all. It is traditional to have a Rabbi’s Tish (Rabbi’s Torah discussion around the Sabbath luncheon table). Rabbi Gershon Johnson will facilitate at the Tish. RSVP to the temple office.

At 7:30 p.m. Fri., Jan. 27 Cantor Kenny Ellis will present a special music Shabbat along with Eileen Weiser and special guests.

Rabbi Neal Weinberg, director of the Introduction to Judaism classes at the University of Judaism, will lead a Special Learners’ Shabbat service from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Sat., Jan. 28. The temple invites all “Jews by choice” and those considering conversion to Judaism as well as those who are native-born Jews to participate in this service. All are invited to join the Kiddush luncheon following the service. RSVP to the temple office.
