Mailbox was dangerous

I’m addressing this in answer to Cynthia Horacek’s letter of Dec. 15 (regarding the removal of the mail box at Kanan and Conifer in Oak Park).

She maintained that the drivers exiting their cars to use the mailbox are cautious. That is the last thing they do. They are more interested in mailing letters. Plus, they are illegally parking in a bike lane.

This lady should see the traffic between 7:45 to 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. each day. She would have been shocked by what I view each and every day.

I think I might have an answer to your dilemma. Drive south on Kanan to Ralphs market. Next to Ralphs is a public mail box. Although it’s not as convenient as the Conifer mail box, using this one might prevent a possible fatality. Morris Rousso Oak Park
