Firefighter thanks the local deli

I would like to personally thank Agoura’s Famous Deli & Restaurant for their incredible generosity they showed to my crew on Sept. 30. It was a humbling experience for my crew and myself in the way we were treated in your restaurant. Not only were the manager and the staff extremely generous, but also the patrons who came up to thank us were also amazing. We had to leave our dinner prior to saying “thank you” because of a “flare up.”

My crew came up from Huntington Beach on a Wednesday in September to fight the Topanga fire and were up for 40 hours straight before we were allowed to sleep. It wasn’t until Friday at your restaurant before we received a decent meal. Sure, the citizens of Oak Park were extremely generous in providing homemade cookies and pizza. However, after so many cookies and pizza, a real meal like we received at the restaurant was a wonderful treat.
