Tree lighting to brighten Conejo

Hospice of the Conejo invites the public to attend the inaugural community tree lighting ceremony for the 2005 Tree of Life from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Sun., Dec. 4 at Gardens of the World, 2001 Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks.

Music by the Westlake High School choirs begins at 5:30 p.m. and a short program follows with the tree lighting at 6:30 p.m. During the event visitors will have the opportunity to honor a loved one with a star to hang on the tree.

Refreshments will be available and visitors are encouraged to dress warmly. Parking will be available on Thousand Oaks Boulevard and at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. A parking fee may apply. As it has for the past 17 years, The Oaks Shopping Center is also hosting the Hospice of the Conejo Tree of Life at Center Court. The public is welcome to visit that tree during the holiday season. It is manned during business hours with Hospice volunteers and staff. Stars are also available at The Oaks.
