Agoura Hills A man with an axe assaulted two day laborers at the inter-section of Agoura and Kanan roads on June 11 at about 10:30 a.m. According to the laborers and witnesses, a heavyset Hispanic man approached the men and asked them if they wanted to work for him. But the laborers smelled alcohol on his breath so they declined. The man became upset and he punched one of the victims in the face and neck and approached the other victim to hit him in the mouth with his fist. After the incident, the man then went back to his 1990 pickup truck to get an axe and he chased the two victims. Thieves stole two laptop computers, cash and a VCR/DVD player from Agoura High School classrooms on June 14. The items were valued at about $1,000. A person shot a firearm into a double paned window of a business in the 27300 block of Agoura road on June 15. The incident caused $500 in damages, but no injuries. Thieves used a forklift to steal several wood pallets from a construction site on Dorothy Drive between June 17 and 20. The items were valued at $2,400. Vandals using a welding torch caused $5,000 in damages to a cargo container in the 29500 block of Canwood Street. The location has been vandalized at least three times in the recent past, authorities said. The latest incident occurred on June 18. Burglars broke the glass door at a business on Roadside Drive between June 18 and 20. Damages were estimated at $1,000. A thief stole a 35 mm camera and damaged the interior of an unlocked car parked in front of a home on Colodny Drive between June 19 and 20. Obscenities were written on the mirror inside the vehicle. Damages were estimated at $180. Calabasas A man assaulted a woman who was jogging on Calabasas Hills Road at about 11:30 a.m. on June 13. The attacker reportedly pinched the woman in the rear and pushed her down before leaving the scene. A cab driver assaulted a passenger who was on her way to work on at about 7 a.m. June 16. The victim was headed from Calabasas to Hidden Hills and asked the driver to stop at a shopping center so she could use the ATM. The driver became agitated and began verbally attacking the woman. According to a witness, a struggle ensued but the woman left before Sheriff’s deputies arrived. Someone stole an XBox video game console and cash from a home on Red bluff Drive on June 16. The loss was estimated at $500. Vandals spray painted a brick wall in the 25100 block of Calabasas Road between June 18 and 21. Damages were estimated at $1,000. A thief stole several remote controls from the family room of a home in on Newcastle Lane. The items were valued at $800. The incident occurred between 1:00 and 2:30 p.m. on June 20. Hidden Hills Someone stole tools from an unlocked garage on Spring Valley Road between June 13 and June 20. The items were valued at bout $950. Workers are suspected. Oak Park A thief stole cash and two credit cards between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. June 18 in the 600 block of N. Lindero Canyon Road. The loss was $200. Westlake Village Someone stole a wallet from a purse left in a shopping cart while the victim was browsing the isles at TJ Maxx on June 13. The purse contained a wallet with $200 in cash and other items valued at $300. Westlake/T.O. Vandals caused $175 in damages between 2:30 a.m. and 3 a.m. June 17 in the 1700 block of Mesa Ridge Avenue. |
