The Acorn’s top 2005 photos

MAKING A SPLASH—Above, Acorn photographer Jann Hendry captured 12-year-old Sammy Fine doing a cannonball into the pool at his Calabasas home. Sammy is a student at A.E. Wright Middle School and also a budding young actor. Below, Oak Park resident Derek Gardner gave us the best reader-submitted photo during the course of the year. Gardner’s Chihauhau, “Itsy Bitsy,” is shown in all his Christmas finery. Nice hat, Itsy. Shame about the legs. These two irresistable photos won the Editor’s Choice for 2005.
