Tree pick ups to help grads

Oak Park seniors and their parents will pick up and recycle Christmas trees in the Oak Park and Agoura neighborhoods to raise funds for the Oak Park High School Safe and Sober Grad Night 2006.

The pick ups will occur on Dec. 29 and Jan. 4 and 5. Removal will cost $20, which will go to help pay for the transportation and safe activities on Oak Park’s graduation night.

“The program has been extremely successful in the past, and this year we hope to raise about $6,000 for the Oak Park Senior Grad Night,” said Mary Ann Alexander, director.

Students and parents will use trucks borrowed from Lister Rentals and will pick up trees between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. The trees will be brought back to the Oak Park High School parking lot where they will be turned into mulch by Thrifty Tree.

Anyone interested in having their tree picked up by members of the Oak Park High School Safe and Sober Grad Night 2006 commission should call (818) 8894077.
