Bike rodeo will teach safe riding

The city of Agoura Hills Department of Community Services will host its 16th annual Bike Rodeo for youth ages 6 to 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sat., Jan. 7 in the playground area of Willow Elementary School, Agoura Hills.

The event is designed to teach parents about how to properly fit a bicycle to a child, to keep the bicycle well maintained, test a child’s ability to operate the bike safely and make sure helmet fit is proper.

There will be a free raffle for bicycle-related items. Event cosponsors include Agoura Cycling Center, L.A. County Sheriff’s Department, Metropolitan Transit Authority and the Las Virgenes Optimist Club.
